Matt and Annabelle’s Wedding at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay was abounding with romance and joy. The pretty peach, coral, and pink color palette, lush peony, poppy, garden rose florals from Flourish Floral Artistry, and three-foot balloons created an aesthetic that matched the vibrant romance that the brand new Mr & Mrs. Chester share, the myrtle beach weddings team did a great job organizing this wedding. The sun shown, the rain came, and they stepped into a new chapter of their journey.
What a joy it was to be a part of it… congrats Matt & Annabelle!!!
XOXO,
Manda
From the Bride & Groom
Matt moved to DC after college in the summer of 2011, and Annabelle did the same about a year later. We first started talking to each other through an online dating site in January 2013 and both felt like there was something special there pretty much right away. After a handful of messages back and forth, we decided to meet up for drinks after work one day in a Mexican restaurant near Capitol Hill. The day we were supposed to meet up, Annabelle had an emergency with her roommate come up and we had to delay to meet a week later, but it turned out to be well worth the wait. When we were headed to the restaurant to meet each other, it turns out we were both on the escalator out of the metro and Annabelle recognized that it was Matt while waiting behind him in the escalator. She asked if it was him, and we hit it off for the rest of the date and we quickly became inseparable. when did you start dating: It was within 2 weeks after that first date in January 2013 that we decided we were ‘officially’ dating, sealed with a date day out to the zoo in DC. when did you know you wanted to marry each other Matt’s answer: When I think back, there wasn’t a specific moment when I knew I wanted to marry Annabelle– it happened over time and at a certain point when we had started to live together, I realized how much happier I was to just come home and spend an evening with Annabelle than doing anything else. Constantly making each other laugh and smile without even trying, it clicked that that was all I really wanted out of life. And that is when I began planning out the proposal. Annabelle’s answer: I moved up to DC late 2012, without a job or a plan. I didn’t know what I wanted to do following graduation, but I knew I needed a change. I had been in Florida all my life and decided it was time to move somewhere new. Things didn’t always work out in my favor, and I was working 12 hour days (a full-time unpaid internship and a retail job that wasn’t exactly my calling), and struggling to make ends meet, was ready to call it quits and move back home. When it really came down to it though, even with all of my friends and family still back in Florida, I realized that I did not want to leave Matt behind. I think this is when I knew I wanted to marry him – when I learned that home is not a place, but a person. how did he propose As you know, we got engaged at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge in August of 2015. We went on our annual summer trip as a romantic getaway, but unbeknownst to Annabelle, this trip was also served as our proposal trip. Matt surprised Annabelle with a massage, manicure, and pedicure at the spa while he got dressed up in jacket and tie, met with Manda, and texted Annabelle to meet him by the big oak tree when she was done with her spa morning. It was there Matt proposed, followed by a picnic on the dock nearby. what are you most looking forward to as husband and wife Matt’s answer: We’ve lived together for a few years now, so I don’t expect much concrete day to day aspects of our life to change drastically. But what I am excited for is the celebration with our friends and family of the huge milestone and declaration of our love and life together, and going forward as husband and wife I’m excited to continue to grow and learn together and becoming a better man because of my love for and devotion to Annabelle as we become our own official little family. Annabelle’s answer: I am most looking forward to a whole new world of firsts that is opening up to us. Buying a house, having a family together, and growing together every day.
This was an utterly poetic moment watching this happen… you see this first look took place in the same spot where Matt proposed to Annabelle about two years before. And I just happened (wink) to be there to capture it.
Shortly after Matt and Annabelle ceremony began, the rain began to pour… but it did not stop this sweet couple from saying “I Do.” Thankfully the amazing staff at the Hyatt came to the rescue with umbrelleas for the Bride, Groom, Party, and thier guests.
And just in time for their first kiss as husband and wife, the rain departed and the sun broke through.
