Lauren and Sal initially met in passing at work. Lauren was a prosecutor in Baltimore and Sal a detective. Though they traveled in the same circles socially and professionally the did not know each other well until one day a mutual friend suggested that Lauren join her in taking Sal out to lunch for his 29th birthday. Lauren tagged along and had a great time and thought Sal was one of the nicest, funniest men she’d ever met. Sal was equally excited to spend time with Lauren, later revealing that he had been interested in her for sometime but apprehensive about approaching her. Shortly after Sal’s birthday, he asked her out on their first date which led to a second a third and a promise of forever!

Lauren and Sal wanted very much to become husband and wife. It was only a mater of time before Sal would ask Lauren to be his wife. Lauren knew a proposal was imminent, but Sal kept the details a surprise. Two days after Lauren’s birthday, Sal called Lauren upstairs, pretending that one of their two dogs had chewed up something valuable. As Lauren  followed the sound of Sal’s voice upstairs, she ultimately found him at the end of the hall, on one knee, with an important question, to which she said “yes!”

On July 18th… they set up a navy blue, pink,  and  gray  affair at the historic riverside haven just minutes from the Chesapeake Bay, known as the Whitehaven Hotel. A place Lauren had grown up  boating past on family  excursions. They made their promises on the dock with Jinx at their feet and had their first dance on the lawn overlooking the grassy shoreline and winding Wicomico river.  Jinx, their handsome german shepherd, who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer was an honored member of their wedding party… He added so much joy to the day.

Congrats, Lauren & Sal… you day was wonderfully fun and lovely!
