This Belmont Manor Wedding featured an ethereal color palette of pale blush, seafoam, pale grays, dusty blues, champagne and gold set within a romantic “Tuscany” vibe complete with calligraphy, olive branch accents, menus, tables dressed in a pale blue stripe of vintage linen, olive oil favors, and a tent transformed with trees inside and floating over the dance floor. The day started with a ceremony in a backdrop of wisteria, proceed to cocktails with a dramatic round bar and lounge furniture and end with dinner & dancing in the whimsical tent.
The bride’s family is from Italy and has a love for all things Tuscany and they also adore the Southern feel that there home state, Maryland creates. The mother of the bride created the infused olive oil favors at each place setting.
{From The Bride}
Joe and I both attended Frostburg University in the fall of 2008; while it was my freshman year of college, Joe was approaching his junior year. Joe and I crossed paths from time to time as he played on the Frostburg baseball team (also note that baseball is my favorite sport). I had lots of friends on the baseball team, however, Joe and I never really officially met and had a chance to talk (he also had a girlfriend at the time). Although, he tells me all the time how he remembers what I was wearing the first time he saw me sitting on the bleachers at the baseball field. He even remembers what color shirt I was wearing (he’s not creepy, I promise). I always say “how do you know it was me for sure?”, because we never actually talked, and he always says “you were with your best friend Alexa, and I know what Alexa looks like!”Anyway, fast forward to 2012 when I was visiting our mutual friend who had gotten in a terrible car accident. Joe happened to be visiting him the same day, and the rest is history! We started “talking” in the beginning of 2012. For 3 months we texted every single day while I was in college at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. We ended up going out on a date the day after I returned home from school, Friday, May 18, 2012. We went to Tidewater Grill on the water in Havre de Grace, MD. It wasn’t until September 8, 2013 when he FINALLY officially asked me to be his girlfriend.
Joe took me on our very first date after talking for months through text message and social media, as I was still in college at Samford University located in Birmingham, AL. Joe had just moved to Frederick, MD, from his hometown in Chesapeake, VA, so he did not know much about how long it took to travel from Frederick to Bel Air. Luckily, the hour and a half drive did not seem to bother him. Much to his surprise, my parents were home when he came to pick me up, so it was then when he met my parents for the first time (#nopressure). We decided to go to a restaurant in Havre de Grace, MD, right on the Chesapeake Bay called Tidewater Grill. Afterward, we walked along the pier and over by the beautiful historic Concord Point Lighthouse. Since we talked for a few months prior to meeting face-to-face, (although, we were acquaintances, to begin with since we both attended Frostburg State University) we connected right away. After sharing life stories, and even coming up with some inside jokes, the stars aligned and we continued to date! Joe finally asked me to be his girlfriend, on September 8, 2013. Trust me, I had been waiting for that day for a long time, haha. From 2012 on, we went on date after date, we took turns traveling to each other’s homes every week and weekend, and that became a pattern for the past four years. On January 30, 2016, Joe took me to Tidewater Grill for lunch, hired a photographer to follow us around the entire day to take pictures, and proposed to me right next to the Concord Point Lighthouse. Joe got down on one knee, pulled out this absolutely stunning ring, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I was speechless for a few minutes so he was getting a little nervous, haha. But of course, my answer was a big, fat “YES! of course!!”. After letting this sink in for a little bit, sitting on the pier to gush over what just happened, and lots of picture taking, we went back to my house to celebrate! To my surprise, both of our families were waiting at our house when we got back!
-Chelsea and Joe now live in Main where she is a Nurse caring for Cancer Patients and he works in Cancer research. Chelsea’s Mom, Camille, is a breast cancer survivor. So this calling is very dear to their hearts.
