SPRING DC WEDDING at the Iconic Union Station

Story Behind    Moments

the

Abby spent the morning getting ready at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in the JFK Suite alongside her mother, sister, and closest friends. Reflecting on the day, she shared that she felt completely at peace knowing she was about to marry the love of her life.

Her halter gown by Antonio Gual featured delicate lace and beading, an elegant look that complemented the historic atmosphere of the venue. Bridesmaids wore dresses in a spring palette of pink, green, and yellow — a fresh, mix-and-match approach that brought color and movement into the celebration.

Florals by Floret and Vine echoed that seasonal palette, layering soft textures and spring blooms throughout the ceremony and reception spaces.

As dinner concluded, the energy of the evening shifted. The dance floor quickly filled and stayed that way — a celebration fueled by the joy of friends, family, and a couple deeply loved by everyone in the room.

Music echoed through the historic hall as guests danced beneath the glow of candlelight, creating the kind of atmosphere that makes a wedding feel unforgettable.

Late into the night, Abby and Will made their exit accompanied by the bold sound of live saxophone and trumpet, weaving their way through cheering guests waving sparklers. It was a moment filled with movement, laughter, and celebration — the perfect send-off into married life.

But the night wasn’t quite over.

In true D.C. fashion, the celebration continued with a bar-crawl afterparty through the city, allowing the couple and their friends to carry the energy of the evening well beyond the final song.

Candlelit Atmosphere
    Union Station’s
East Hall

One of the most remarkable elements of the evening was the atmosphere created inside East Hall. Julie from Birch Management envisioned a candlelit design that softened the monumental architecture of the space, transforming it into something unexpectedly intimate.

Hundreds of candles flickered across the tables, their glow reflecting off the historic stone and vaulted ceilings above. The effect was warm, romantic, and immersive — an environment where guests could feel the scale of the venue while still experiencing the closeness of an elegant dinner party.

Layered linens, printed floral plates, and thoughtful design details completed the setting, creating a reception that felt both refined and welcoming.

A Wedding Grounded    STORy

Abby and Will first met through a mutual friend in 2019 before building their relationship across cities and seasons. After two years of long distance, Abby returned to the D.C. area to be with Will, and he later proposed in their apartment with their golden retriever, Benny, by their side.

As they planned their wedding, Abby reflected on the intention behind the celebration:

"We never lost sight of the purpose of the event."

That mindset shaped a day that felt not only beautiful but deeply meaningful — a celebration rooted in love, partnership, and the journey that brought them here.

from the bride & Groom:

IN THEIR
OWN WORDS

If I could give her MORE THAN 5 STARS - I would.

From her preparation prior to the event all the way through the last photo of the night, Manda is thoughtful, calm, creative, and supportive on what can sometimes be a chaotic and overwhelming day for many. Her presence allowed me to truly just enjoy my wedding weekend while she captured those genuine moments of love and joy that everyone was feeling. Even when our planner was not with us to organize our group, Manda kept us moving and supported us the whole way through.

Manda was EXTREMELY responsive- sending our previews on SUNDAY after our Saturday night wedding (which she stayed at until the bitter end). I can't express how much that means to be able to recap with family and friends as you look back on the highlight reel of photos.

You will absolutely not regret booking Manda for your wedding. Her professionalism and product is unmatched and I would not have wanted anyone else working with us on our wedding day. If I could give more than 5 stars- I would!
