If I were to give Katie and Will’s Wedding a title, I would call it  With Love and Lavender… The scent of lavender was everpresent on the breeze on this stunning Wedding day….One of the uniquely romantic features of hosting an Inn at Huntingfield Creek wedding is the field of lavender on the property just steps away from the Inn. Katie and Will stood hand in hand and poured their heartfelt vows out to each other as the fragrance filled the air. I will never forget the way they both wept freely and laughed exuberantly as they promised forever, danced their first, and listened to the stories told by their family and friends within the toasts.

Katie and Will’s Wedding was filled with classic and elegant design elements, a signature of Kari Rider Events.  It was very important to Katie and Will to support local artists and vendors. The romantic florals featuring garden roses, ranunculus, freesia, and unripened blackberries from the nearby Seaberry Farms. The Smith Island Cakes, an Eastern Shore Essential, were from Classic Cakes (a family owned bakery with direct connections to Smith Island itself).

First Looks are always a good idea especially when they happen in a field of fragrant lavender.

Jack their sweet pup was definitely a highlight of the day… I’m so glad he joined the party!!!

From The Bride

Katie and William first met in 2011 when they were both living in Philadelphia – William rowing and studying at Drexel University and Katie working in finance. As the story goes, the rest is history. After the first time they met, with William’s characteristic persistence, they realized they were meant to be, and have been practically inseparable ever since. Moving from city to city, they finally settled at the South Jersey shore with their cute-as-a-button furry son, Dennis. They realized they were meant to be when they knew they couldn’t spend a moment without each other for the rest of their lives. After asking for her uncle’s permission, William asked Katie to be his wife overlooking a valley of rolling hills at a picturesque winery in Tuscany, Italy.
